Jammu, Oct 8: The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (J&K BOSE) has officially released the date sheets for the Annual Regular Examinations 2025 (October–November session) for classes 11 and 12, marking a significant step in restoring the academic calendar disrupted in recent years. According to the notification, the Class 12 examinations will commence on November 8, while Class 11 exams will begin on November 19, with both expected to conclude by the second week of December.
This year, more than 1.52 lakh students — including around 81,000 from Class 11 and 71,000 from Class 12 from the Kashmir Division, winter zone areas of Jammu Division, and District Kargil will appear for the exams. The move marks a return to the traditional October–November examination schedule, a decision welcomed by schools and students alike.
Taking into account the disruptions caused by torrential rains, cloudbursts, and floods, the board has announced a 15% relaxation in the syllabus for these classes. As per this concession, attempting 85% of the total marks will be treated as equivalent to 100%, a measure aimed at alleviating academic pressure on students affected by the natural calamities.
J&K BOSE has urged students to prepare diligently for the examinations and assured them that the board remains committed to maintaining the highest standards of transparency, integrity, and fairness in the conduct of the exams. It has also directed the invigilation staff to discharge their duties with utmost professionalism to safeguard the credibility of the examination process.
The board has sought the cooperation of the district administration, police, and School Education Department (SED) to ensure the exams are conducted in a smooth, fair, and orderly manner. In addition, it has advised students, parents, and all stakeholders to refer only to the official JKBOSE website www.jkbose.nic.in for accurate information regarding date sheets and concession criteria, cautioning them against falling prey to misinformation or misinterpretation circulating on social media.
