J&K’s Prevailing Peace Amidst Pakistan’s Planned Conspiracy: DGP Dilbag Singh’s Assertion

02-08-2023 : Director General of Police (DGP) Jammu and Kashmir, Dilbag Singh, addressed the flagging off of Police Station teams at Commando Training Center (CTC) Lethpora, Awantipora on Wednesday, emphasizing that peace has been achieved in Jammu and Kashmir despite a planned conspiracy by Pakistan. Singh acknowledged the long hunt for peace in the region, which has witnessed significant sacrifices of lives of people, police, and security forces due to terrorism instigated by external forces.

The DGP underscored the importance of protecting the hard-earned peace and ensuring the safety and security of the people living in the changing scenario. He expressed optimism about the youth of J&K performing diligently in various spheres and urged them to focus on their careers and aspirations.

Singh also shed light on the ongoing conspiracies by Pakistan and its agencies, attempting to lure the youth into radicalization and violence. He emphasized the mission of putting an end to such conspiracies and eliminating all anti-national elements from J&K to help the region regain its past glory.

The DGP appreciated the good work of the police and security forces in restoring peace, acknowledging the praises from higher authorities, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah. He, however, asserted that it doesn’t bring happiness for the forces to kill terrorists as they too have families with dreams of education and prosperity. He extended hope that the youth would choose a better life by abandoning the path of violence.

Singh urged the misguided youth, who are influenced by the fake narratives propagated by Pakistan, to shun violence. He drew attention to the nefarious tactic of Pakistan in supplying drugs to the youth of Jammu and Kashmir, similar to what was done in Punjab.

The DGP acknowledged the crucial role played by the people in restoring normalcy and peace, stating that their support and cooperation were vital.

During the Parade-Cum-Flagging off ceremony of “Peace & Stability” Teams established under Operational Capabilities Augmentation of Police Stations (OCAPS), the DGP flagged off the PS Teams in 21 Bunker Vehicles to Police Station, which consist of 290 officers and officials for their deployment across Kashmir valley. Additionally, 5 Marksman vehicles were flagged off to CRPF.

Addressing the senior officers of CAPFs and Army, Singh expressed gratitude for their significant contribution to improving the changing situation in Jammu and Kashmir. He highlighted the dedication of the Peace & Stability Teams, focused on augmenting peace and stability in their jurisdictional areas.

Singh stressed that the Police Stations are the first point of contact for people, providing various facilities and responding to matters related to crime, verification, law and order, security, and civic actions.

The DGP also announced the upcoming events from 8th Aug to 20th Aug, with the motto “Meri Matti Mera Desh, Mitti Ko Naman Veeron Ko Vandan.” These events will serve as an occasion to remember and pay tribute to all the martyrs who made supreme sacrifices for the people and the integrity and sovereignty of the country.
