14-02-2023 : According to Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Jammu and Kashmir’s statehood won’t be reinstated until after the assembly elections. He said that the Election Commission would make the decision regarding when to hold elections but made no further comments.
He asserted that the situation in the Union territory had improved and that the country had suffered because Article 370, which granted J&K special status and was repealed in 2019, had been detrimental.
He claimed, “I had made it quite clear that statehood would be restored in Jammu and Kashmir following elections.
