Kathua, Jan 15: A joint search operation involving the Army, CRPF, and local police was carried out in various areas of Kathua and Billawar districts following reports of suspected movement, officials said.
The operations, led by Deputy Inspector General of Police, JSK Range, Shiv Kumar, focused on Jakhole and Saghroon villages in Kathua, after two suspects were reportedly sighted in the area. Security forces conducted thorough checks along the Jakhole route of the Suffain area, the Sanganoo forest, and locations under Police Posts Chingara and Manamal, along with surrounding areas.
Senior police officials accompanying the DIG included Senior Superintendent of Police Mohita Sharma, SP Operations Kathua Mukund, SP Operations Billawar, SDPO Border Kathua, SHO Rajbagh, and SHO Billawar.
In a separate operation in Billawar, a joint search was conducted in the forest region of Najot village and surrounding areas. The exercise was carried out systematically to ensure safety and maintain law and order.
During the operations, DIG JSK Range directed Village Defence Guards to remain vigilant and urged the public to report any suspicious activity to the nearest police station immediately.
Officials stressed that the search operations were precautionary measures aimed at safeguarding the region and ensuring public safety.
