BANDIPORA, MARCH 04: On the directions of Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Sub Divisional Magistrate Sumbal Dr. Bashir Lone along with a team of officers today visited Banyari village to inspect the situation arising out of water logging in low lying areas near Wullar lake.
During the joint inspection, teams conducted verification of the affected areas due to recent waterlogging, assessed damages, and ongoing de-watering work.
The joint team lead by Dr. Lone directed to ensure that the water channels are clear and implementation of plan approved by Deputy Commissioner Bandipora who is also the Chairman DDMA Bandipora to avoid water logging in such areas.
The teams interacted with the locals and listened to their grievances. They also processed cases for relief under SDRF as required. It is pertinent to mention that the stationing of de-watering pumps has been approved by DDMA Bandipora and will be stationed in all low lying areas of the district.
The SDM during the visit was accompanied by Tehsildar Hajin, Coordinator WUCMA Bandipora, Executive Engineer I&FC Sumbal and Manager Reach Dredging Works.
