Kangana Ranaut’s ‘Bharat Bhagya Vidhata’ Inspired by 26/11 Hospital Attack

Mumbai: Actor Kangana Ranaut has returned to film sets after focusing on her political career and is currently working on her upcoming project ‘Bharat Bhagya Vidhata’, which is reportedly inspired by events linked to the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks.

Film Based on Cama Hospital Incident

According to media reports, the film draws inspiration from the incident at Cama and Albless Hospital during the 26/11 attacks. The story is expected to highlight how hospital staff responded with courage and presence of mind while dealing with the crisis that unfolded during the terror assault.

Kangana will reportedly portray the role of a nurse, while actor Girija Oak is also set to play a key role in the film. The project marks the directorial debut of Manoj Tapadia.

Shooting Completed, Release Expected This Year

Reports suggest that the film’s shooting has already been completed and the project has now moved into the post-production stage. The makers are reportedly planning to release the movie in theatres later this year.

Background of the 26/11 Hospital Attack

During the Mumbai terror attacks on November 26, 2008, armed terrorists entered the Cama and Albless Hospital premises and opened fire, killing several security personnel and injuring staff members. The hospital administration quickly locked gates and secured different sections of the building to protect patients and employees while the situation unfolded.

Kangana’s Recent and Upcoming Projects

Kangana was last seen in the film ‘Emergency’, released in January 2025, where she portrayed former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. The film also featured Anupam Kher, Shreyas Talpade, Mahima Chaudhry, Milind Soman, Vishak Nair, and the late Satish Kaushik.

She is also set to appear in another project alongside R. Madhavan, directed by AL Vijay, and is preparing for her Hollywood debut with the film ‘Blessed Be the Evil’, where she will star with Tyler Posey and Scarlet Rose Stallone under the direction of Anurag Rudra.
