Kapil Sharma Café Firing: Delhi Police Arrest Key Gangster Suspect

Accused tied to Canada-based gangster Goldy Dhillon; pistol recovered, wider conspiracy under probe

New Delhi, Nov 28: Delhi Police have arrested a suspected gangster allegedly involved in the recent firing incident at comedian Kapil Sharma’s restaurant in Canada, officials said on Friday.

The accused, Bandhu Man Singh, is known to be a close aide of Canada-based gangster Goldy Dhillon, who is believed to run multiple extortion and intimidation rackets targeting high profile individuals abroad.

Investigators said Singh had been actively coordinating with Dhillon’s network and was involved in a larger conspiracy to target the popular artist’s restaurant as an act of pressure and intimidation.

A senior police officer said the arrest was made following specific intelligence inputs.
“A Chinese made pistol and several cartridges were seized from his possession. His role in the conspiracy, along with his links to overseas operatives, is being thoroughly investigated,” the officer stated.

Police said further investigation is underway to identify additional conspirators and to uncover the full scope of the gang’s operations in India and abroad.
