India, Jan 15 : The semi final of the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025–26 will see defending champions Karnataka take on Vidarbha at the BCCI Centre of Excellence Ground in Bengaluru.
Karnataka booked their place in the last four after defeating Mumbai by 55 runs via the VJD (V Jayadevan) method in a rain affected quarter-final on Monday. Mumbai posted 254 for 8 in their allotted overs, while Karnataka were cruising at 187 for 1 in 33 overs when rain and poor light forced an early end to the contest. Having surpassed the VJD par score at the stoppage, Karnataka were declared winners.
Vidarbha, meanwhile, entered the semi-final on the back of a convincing 76-run victory over Delhi. Yash Rathod starred with the bat, scoring 86 off 72 balls to help Vidarbha post 300 for 9 in 50 overs. Delhi were then bowled out for 224 in 45.1 overs.
With momentum on their side, Vidarbha will look to challenge a strong Karnataka unit, while the defending champions will aim to extend their title defence. The second semi-final, featuring Punjab and Saurashtra, will be played on January 16.
