JAMMU, NOV 14: Kavinder Gupta, former Deputy Chief Minister and senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader has said that the Kashmir imbroglio that the nation has been facing is the result of wrong policy of the late Prime Minister of India Pt Jawahar Lal Nehru and his unholy bonhomie with Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah. He said that it was because of them that the nation had to face adverse consequences.
The senior BJP leader stated this while addressing a gathering during a function where he kick-started the construction work of a street work in Ward No: 2 Cantonment Board area here today. The street work which is estimated to cost 20 lakh rupees was started in the presence of BJP District President Vinay Gupta, Mandal head Bharat Bhushan and his entire team comprising Mohit Raina, Meetu Sharma, Sangeeta Sharma, Pawan Raina, Gurdayal, Monu Salathia and a large number of party workers and activists besides locals of the area.
Kavinder Gupta congratulated the people of the area especially the Councillor for fulfillment of their demand as a result of which the work on this dilapidated street pending for the past many years being executed now will end the problems of the locals of the area. He said that development in J&K had been arrested due to the worst phase of terrorism for over seven decades attributed to the wrong rather anti national policies adopted by the then PM Jawahar Lal Nehru and Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah.
The former Dy CM said that had Sardar Patel been allowed to deal with Jammu and Kashmir at the time of partition, he would have merged it with India like all other balkanized territories successfully and the nation would have been saved from paying through nose. However, now with the Prime Minister Narendra Modi led Govt at the Centre, the situation has been handled with utmost precision as a result of which Article 370 and 35A of the Constitution have been shown the door there is complete integration of J&K with India. He asserted that now J&K and its people are enjoying all the rights as in the rest of the nation.
Today the zero tolerance policy towards terrorism and terrorists has succeeded in bringing back peace and development in J&K, Kavinder said, adding that people are witnessing unprecedented development in every nook and corner of the Union Territory.
