Srinagar, Oct 7: Fresh snowfall covered several tourist resorts and higher reaches of Kashmir on Tuesday, while the plains experienced rainfall, officials said. The wet weather led to a sharp drop in daytime temperatures across the valley.
Popular destinations such as Gulmarg, Pahalgam, Sonamarg, Aru Valley, Chandanwari, and Kokernag received snowfall. Additionally, Peer Ki Gali on the Mughal Road in Shopian and Zojila Pass along the Srinagar-Leh highway also saw fresh snowfall, prompting temporary road closures.
