Mumbai, Nov 29 : The makers of the highly anticipated pan Indian Malayalam action thriller Kattalan, starring Antony Varghese (Pepe) in the lead, on Friday officially welcomed Tamil actress Dushara Vijayan to the film unit. The film marks Dushara’s debut in the Malayalam film industry.
Cube Entertainments, the production house behind Kattalan, shared the announcement on social media, writing: “Welcoming the charismatic @dushara_vijayan to the world of Kattalan. Known for her bold and natural performances in films like Veera Dheera Sooran (2025), Vettaiyan (2024), Raayan (2024), and Sarpatta Parambarai (2021), she now makes her Mollywood debut with Kattalan.”
The film has already generated considerable buzz among fans and industry watchers. The team recently wrapped up the Thailand schedule, which began on October 1. During this schedule, Antony Varghese sustained an injury while performing a high-octane action sequence involving an elephant, Pong, famed for his roles in the Ong-Bak series. The action sequences were choreographed by internationally renowned stunt director Kecha Khamphakdee and his expert team.
Produced by Shareef Muhammed of Cube Entertainments, best known for the blockbuster Marco, Kattalan is directed by Paul George. Alongside Antony Varghese and Rajisha Vijayan, the film features a star-studded cast including rapper Baby Jean, Telugu actor Sunil (Pushpa: The Rise, Pushpa 2, Jailer), Kabir Duhan Singh, and veteran Malayalam actors Jagadeesh and Siddique. Other talents recently added to the cast include Parth Tiwari, Anson Paul, and model-turned-actor Shon Joy, known for his debut in Alappuzha Gymkhana (2025).
The gripping story of Kattalan is crafted by debutant writing trio Paul George, Joby Varghese, and Jero Jacob, blending raw narrative energy with cinematic vision. The team has promised a high-stakes, action-packed tale of power, betrayal, and dangerous missions.
Kattalan boasts music by Ajaneesh Loknath (Kantara 2), choreography by Sharief, costumes by Dhanya Balakrishnan, cinematography by Renadive, and editing by Shameer Muhammed, further elevating expectations for the pan-Indian thriller.
