Kavinder endorses NCERT Panel’s recommendation to replace ‘India’ with ‘Bharat’

Says word symbolizes colonial slavery

JAMMU,25-10-2023 : Senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister, Kavinder Gupta on Thursday strongly endorsed the proposal given by National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) panel to have the next set of books printed as ‘Bharat’ instead of India.

In a statement issued to media persons, the BJP stalwart leader said that Bharat symbolizes the rich and vibrant past of the country and on the contrary, word India has no relevance except the same being quintessence of colonial slavery.

It is pertinent to mention that aforesaid proposal has been accepted unanimously by the members of the panel which is one of the 25 panels that are working on changing or modifying the content of NCERT books however, it has only been accepted by a smaller committee and is yet to get a final nod.

Kavinder has welcomed the recommendation claiming that the decision will undo the ploy of the British to diminish the country’s magnanimity by changing its aboriginal name to a less significant one viz India, which has no relevant meaning concerning the greatness of Bharat having a golden past and a history which is vibrant, vivacious and pulsating.

Kavinder expressed faith that there is no reason that the committee which has the ultimate power to give final nod to this proposal will give a contrary decision as the recommendation is significant in enthusing self pride and confidence among the countrymen. “My vote is for name ‘Bharat’ and I fully endorse the idea”, he forcefully asserted.
