KBC Kid Contestant Ishit Bhatt Sparks Online Debate: Genius or Overconfident?

Ten year old Ishit Bhatt’s bold remarks to Amitabh Bachchan divide social media as fans debate confidence vs. rudeness.

Mumbai, Oct 13 : It was meant to be a heartwarming moment on ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati 17’ (KBC): a bright young student sitting across from Amitabh Bachchan. But ten-year old Ishit Bhatt from Gandhinagar, Gujarat, quickly became the talk of the internet  not for his answers, but for his bold attitude.

The fifth grader’s confident and outspoken behavior sparked a social media storm. Right at the start, when Amitabh Bachchan began explaining the rules, Ishit interrupted with:

“Mere ko rules pata hai, isliye aap mereko abhi rules samjhane mat baithna”  meaning, “I already know the rules, so don’t start explaining them to me.”

While some praised his confidence, many viewers perceived it as disrespectful toward the legendary host. Social media platforms like X (formerly Twitter), Instagram, and Reddit quickly filled with reactions, ranging from “smart kid with poor manners” to “just playful and expressive.”

Throughout the episode, Ishit’s energy remained high. He eagerly demanded answer options before they were read: “Arre option daalo!”, and joked: “Sir, ek kya uss mein chaar lock lagado. Lekin lock karo!” (“Sir, not one, put four locks on it, but do lock it!”).

However, his confidence faltered when faced with a question on the Ramayana, leading him to choose the wrong answer and exit the show without any prize money. Amitabh Bachchan remarked kindly: “Kabhi kabhi bachhe overconfidence mein galti kar dete hain”  “Sometimes children make mistakes due to overconfidence.”

The episode went viral almost immediately, inspiring memes, reels, and reaction videos. Internet opinions remain divided: some criticized Ishit’s behavior and questioned parental guidance, while others defended the young contestant as an excited and outspoken child experiencing national television for the first time.

Whether viewed as a little genius or an overconfident kid, Ishit Bhatt’s KBC appearance has sparked a lively debate on confidence, manners, and childhood boldness.
