Kharge Approves Three Key Committees for Tamil Nadu Congress

Congress sets up political, advisory and disciplinary panels to strengthen coordination and organisational functioning in Tamil Nadu.

Chennai, Oct 5: Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge has approved the formation of three committees for the Tamil Nadu Pradesh Congress Committee (TNCC), aimed at strengthening the party’s functioning and internal coordination in the state.

The decision includes the constitution of a Political Affairs Committee, an Advisory Committee and a Disciplinary Action Committee, according to a statement issued by AICC General Secretary K C Venugopal on Sunday evening.

The Political Affairs Committee will include Tamil Nadu Congress Committee president B Manickam Tagore and S Jothimani among its members.

The seven-member Disciplinary Action Committee will be headed by K R Ramasamy. Its other members are Jayakumar S S, Ramasubbu, U Balaraman, R N Palanisamy, Sudha Ramakrishnan and Ameer Khan.

The three panels are expected to help improve decision-making, oversee organisational matters and address disciplinary issues within the state unit.

The Congress said the committees would play a role in ensuring better coordination and effective management of political and organisational affairs in Tamil Nadu.

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge
