New Delhi, Apr 09 : As Kerala heads to the polls to elect a new government, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge on Thursday urged citizens to support leadership that prioritises public welfare and delivers tangible results.
In a message shared on X, Kharge highlighted the state’s long standing commitment to inclusivity, education, and social justice. He encouraged voters to safeguard these values, warning against forces that could create division or shift focus from real issues.
He pointed out concerns such as unemployment, economic challenges, and lack of opportunities, stating that various sections of society including farmers, youth, and small business owners are seeking meaningful relief and growth.
Reinforcing the appeal, Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra called on voters to opt for change, backing the United Democratic Front (UDF) as an alternative focused on people’s needs and transparent governance.
She emphasised that citizens deserve leadership that listens, understands everyday struggles, and works selflessly for public welfare rather than political survival.
The results of the election will be declared on May 4.
