Khidmat Centre Association Demands Early implementation of rehabilitation policy

12-01-2023 : The representatives of Khidmat Centre Association from UT of J&K and UT of Ladakh conducted a press conference here at press club Jammu today. The press conference was conducted in order to remind UT Administration of J&K & PMO Dr.Jitender Singh regarding the promises done in 2020 for framing a permanent settlement Job policy and implement the same to safeguard the interests of thousands of Khidmat Centre owners working across Jammu, Kashmir & Ladakh union territories. Speaking at the occasion the president of the association Mr.Tanveer Haji, informed that recently Dr Jitendra Singh, MoS for Prime Minister’s Office; Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions; took a note of the demands of Khidmat Centre Owners and had issued orders to resolve the same.

He further stated that the then Lieutenant Governor G.C Murmu had informed the PMO that the UT Government had formulated a plan to address the issues of Khidmat Centres. Through various communication from the Central Government has also directed and advised the UT administration to resolve the issues of Khidmat Centres on priority basis. The representatives of the association also disclosed the relevant communication and supportive documents during the press briefing.

The Association representatives further disclosed that Khidmat Centres were set up in the year 2009 and have been serving the masses across the length and breadth of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh since then. The Khidmat Centre Association has been highlighting their demands from last 12 years so that their problems and grievances are redressed but nothing concrete has been done so far by the administration. The association members further vowed that orders and guidelines have been  issued  by  PMO, UT  Administration etc  from  time  to  time  regarding permanent settlement of Khidmat Centre owners but none of them have been implemented so far. It is pertinent to mention here that Khidmat Centre owners are waiting for rehabilitation in terms of a permanent Job policy from more than 12 years now.

The President of the Association further said that they are hopeful and once again requested Hon’ble Dr Jitendra Singh (MoS PMO) and Hon’ble LG, Shri Manoj Sinha to look into the matter and implement the rehabilitation policy so that the long pending & genuine issue of Khidmat Centres is resolved without any further delay.
