Kulgam Police Bust Narco-Network: Two Drug Peddlers Arrested, Charas Seized

Two arrested under “Drugs Free Kulgam” campaign; 115 grams of charas recovered

Kulgam, Dec 11: As part of the ongoing “Drugs Free Kulgam” initiative, police have arrested two alleged drug peddlers and seized a significant quantity of charas in a checkpoint operation at Furrah Bypass.

According to officials, a police party from Police Post Mirbazar set up a naka at Furrah Bypass. During routine checks, two individuals acting suspiciously attempted to flee but were apprehended after a tactical chase.

Upon search, officers recovered 115 grams of charas-like contraband from the suspects, identified as Javaid Gulzar Ganie and Shahid Mushtaq Bhat, both residents of Furrah.

A case has been registered under FIR No. 252/2025 at Police Station Qazigund under Sections 8/20, 29 of the NDPS Act, and investigations are underway.

Police have urged the public to share any information related to drug peddling or anti-social activities to support the ongoing efforts to curb drug abuse, emphasizing that drugs are destroying the lives and careers of the youth.
