MUMBAI, Sep 3: Actor filmmaker Kunal Kemmu has opened up about working with veteran actress Sharmila Tagore in his upcoming directorial Vibe, describing the experience as a special moment in his filmmaking journey.
Kemmu revealed that Tagore, who is also his mother-in-law, approached the project professionally and requested a synopsis before deciding to take up the role.
The filmmaker said he was particularly proud of getting the opportunity to call action and cut on an actor of Tagore’s stature.
Vibe marks Kemmu’s second directorial project following the success of Madgaon Express. The film features Preity Zinta, Sparsh Shrivastava and newcomer Vanshika Dhir in prominent roles.
Tagore’s appearance adds another notable name to the cast and has drawn attention to the project ahead of its release.
Kemmu’s comments also highlight the personal and professional dimensions of bringing an acclaimed veteran into a project, particularly when the actor is a member of his family.
With Vibe, Kemmu is looking to build on his reputation as a filmmaker after making his directorial debut with Madgaon Express, while bringing together an ensemble cast for his latest project.
