Kupwara DC Shrikant Suse Initiates Action Against 48 Officers

DC Kupwara Cracks Down on Absenteeism; 48 Officials Issued Show-Cause Notices

Kupwara, Sep 11: Under the directives of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shrikant Suse, Kupwara district administration carried out a series of surprise inspections across government offices this week to monitor employee attendance and punctuality.

Inspection teams, led by the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Assistant Commissioner Revenue (ACR), SDMs, and Tehsildars, visited offices in their respective jurisdictions during working hours. Around 48 employees were found absent without authorization.

The district administration has issued show-cause notices to all erring officials, directing them to explain their absence within a stipulated timeframe. DC Suse warned that habitual absenteeism and dereliction of duty would attract strict disciplinary action.

He stressed that government employees are public servants first and foremost, and their primary responsibility is to provide efficient services to citizens. The DC also directed all controlling officers to closely monitor attendance and announced that surprise inspections will continue to enforce discipline and accountability in district offices.
