Kuwait Reports Missile, Drone Attack Amid Fragile Iran War Ceasefire

Fresh strike raises fears of renewed escalation as efforts continue to secure a formal end to the Iran conflict

DUBAI, May 28: Kuwait on Thursday said it came under a missile and drone attack, adding fresh uncertainty to the already fragile ceasefire linked to the Iran conflict.

Kuwait’s military confirmed the attack but did not disclose specific details about the intended targets or possible damage.

During the recent regional conflict, Kuwait had repeatedly faced threats from Iran and Iran-backed Shiite militias operating from Iraq. No group immediately claimed responsibility for Thursday’s assault.

The latest incident came shortly after the United States announced new strikes targeting Iran despite the ongoing ceasefire arrangement. Diplomatic efforts are continuing to extend the truce and negotiate a permanent end to the war that has rattled the Middle East.
