Laghu Udyog Bharati Delegates Seek Policy Extensions and Incentives for Industrial Development in Jammu & Kashmir

Jammu, 06-12-2023 : A delegation from Laghu Udyog Bharati (LUB) convened with the recently appointed Chief Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir, Atal Dulloo, to discuss and address the challenges impeding industrial growth in the region. Led by LUB President Parveen Pargal, the delegation extended warm wishes for Dulloo’s new role and proceeded to apprise him of their concerns.

Among the issues highlighted by Pargal were the delayed development of new Industrial Estates, pending land possession for allottees dating back to 2021, and the limited availability of land types for development. Emphasizing the crucial role of private players in expediting industrial estate development, the delegation urged the authorization of Change of Land Use (CLU) for various land types.

Pargal underscored the urgency of extending the impending policy deadline of September 30, 2024, citing investor anxiety and the imperative for timely resolution. The delegation proposed measures such as waiving stamp duty for private industrial parks and industrial plot purchases to stimulate private sector involvement.

Furthermore, the delegation advocated for the removal of a 5% transfer fee on changing land use, with the aim of fostering collaboration between private developers and investors. Pargal urged swift action to address these issues and create a conducive environment for industrial growth in Jammu & Kashmir.

Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo attentively listened to the delegation’s concerns and assured them that necessary measures and immediate steps would be taken to enhance the functioning of Industrial Units in J&K at the earliest. The meeting also saw the presence of Vice Presidents Adv. Ishant Gupta and Mukul Gupta, Secretary Aagam Jain, and Special Member Dinesh Gupta.
