Jammu, 03-07-2024: Sh. Lalit Kumar Mahajan has been elected as the Chairman of the Federation of Industries Jammu (FOIJ) for the term 2024-25. He assumed his new role in a meeting held today, which saw the presence of Sh. S.C. Dutta, Sh. Ajit Lal Bawa, Co-Chairmen, and Sh. Viraaj Malhotra, Secretary General, along with Sh. Pardeep Vaid, Convenor, and other esteemed members of FOIJ.
According to the constitution of the Federation of Industries Jammu, the President of the Bari Brahmana Industries Association (BBIA), Sh. Lalit Kumar Mahajan was elected as the Chairman of FOIJ. In addition, Sh. T.S. Reen (President AOI), Sh. Jatinder Aul (President Association of Industries Digiana), Sh. S.C. Dutta (President Birpur Association), Sh. Ajit Lal Bawa (President SSI Association Kathua), and Sh. Raman Jolly (SSI Association Samba) were elected as Co-Chairmen of FOIJ. Furthermore, Sh. Pardeep Vaid (General Secretary AOI, Gangyal) was elected as the Secretary-General and Sh. Viraaj Malhotra (General Secretary BBIA) was appointed as the Convenor of the Federation of Industries Jammu for the 2024-25 term.
Upon assuming the charge as Chairman, Mr. Mahajan expressed his deep gratitude to the outgoing Chairman, acknowledging the significant contributions made by Sh. T.S. Reen for the benefit of the industrial sector. He assured the members that the Federation would continue to work diligently towards creating a hassle-free environment that promotes the speedy growth of the industrial sector in Jammu and Kashmir.
Mr. Mahajan also committed to resolving the pending issues related to the industrial sector on a priority basis. He emphasized that the Federation would actively engage with the Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory (JKUT) Administration to address several key issues. These include securing GST link incentives for existing units undergoing substantial expansion or changes in their line of activity, as well as those adding additional lines of manufacturing. Additionally, he highlighted the importance of turnover incentives and marketing support, which could be facilitated through the grant of price/purchase preferences, among other related industrial sector issues in Jammu and Kashmir.
The meeting underscored the Federation’s dedication to addressing the challenges faced by the industrial sector and ensuring that the needs and concerns of the industrial fraternity are met with proactive and effective solutions. The elected officials reiterated their commitment to fostering a supportive and growth-oriented industrial environment in the Union Territory.
