SRINAGAR, JUNE 05: The enforcement team of Lakes and Waterways Development Authority (LAWDA) has demolished several illegal constructions/encroachments from the last one week in the areas of Lashkari Mohalla, Doji Mohalla, Burzhama, Wangut Teilbal, and Nishat.
During the drives, one single storey with tin walling, one ground floor, two plinth blocks & two shops raised illegally were demolished on spot. Moreover, in the area of Dal zero-tolerance zone one wooden platform was also demolished on the spot.
It was given out that the violators are taking the advantage of current lockdown (Covid-19) and are indulging in raising these illegal constructions which were on spot demolished by the demolition team of this wing.
Also, legal action warranted under rules was initiated against the violators. During the demolition drive, there was some resistance during the demolition process but the demolition team managed to demolish the raised illegal structures.
Meanwhile, all the public residing within the LDA jurisdiction and in the lake are hereby once again directed not to go for any sort of illegal constructions/ encroachments, as the Enforcement wing will continue with demolition of illegal constructions/ removal of encroachments.
