Srinagar, October 10 : National Conference leader Omar Abdullah voiced concern over the ongoing conflict in West Asia and expressed hope for a swift return to normalcy. He emphasized that innocent civilians were the most severely affected by the violence, irrespective of their nationality or affiliation. Abdullah conveyed his disappointment at witnessing casualties on both sides of the Israel-Palestine conflict, highlighting the tragic consequences of violence on innocent people.
Mehbooba Mufti, the President of the People’s Democratic Party, also expressed her apprehension about the situation in West Asia. She criticized the Western world for reacting only when Israel faced attacks from Hamas. Mufti pointed out the longstanding atrocities committed by Israel in Palestine, including the loss of lives among people of all ages and genders. She drew attention to the world’s silence on these issues until recent events involving Tel Aviv.
Both leaders called for an end to the violence and a return to normalcy in the conflict-ridden region. They highlighted the importance of recognizing the suffering of innocent civilians and advocated for international intervention to address the root causes of the conflict.
