JAMMU, NOVEMBER 20: In a day marked by a series of significant interactions, Dr Narinder Singh Raina, Member of the Legislative Assembly from R.S Pura Jammu South, met the Lieutenant Governor and discussed issues concerning his constituency and ongoing developmental priorities. The meeting reflected the continued engagement between public representatives and the administration to address local needs and strengthen grassroots governance.
During the day, the Lieutenant Governor also received two Dogri language books authored by renowned writer and Padma Shri awardee Dr Jitendra Udhampuri. The books, titled “Dogri Sahitya Da Itihas” and “Duggar Sanskriti,” were presented to him as a tribute to the region’s rich literary and cultural heritage. The gesture highlighted the ongoing efforts to preserve and promote the Dogri language, traditional knowledge and the cultural identity of the Duggar region.
In another meeting, a delegation from the Kashmiri Pandit Sabha, Jammu, led by its President K.K Khosa, called on the Lieutenant Governor. The delegation shared their views, concerns and suggestions regarding community welfare and ongoing issues faced by displaced families. Their interaction underscored the administration’s continued outreach to community bodies and the importance of maintaining dialogue to address longstanding challenges.
Later, office bearers from JP World School, Jammu, also met the Lieutenant Governor and discussed matters related to educational initiatives, student welfare and institutional development. Their visit reflected the growing emphasis on improving academic standards and enhancing learning environments across the Union Territory.
Additionally, Shri Varinder Mahajan, President of the All India Young Blood Organization, called on the Lieutenant Governor and briefed him on the organization’s ongoing social service initiatives. The meeting highlighted the role of youth-led groups in community development, blood donation awareness and humanitarian efforts across the region.
