Srinagar, Sep 17: On the occasion of the fortnight long ‘Sewa Pakhwada’, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha virtually inaugurated the Bailey Bridge on the Ramban-Gool Road, dedicating it to the people of Ramban.
The LG expressed gratitude to the Army engineers who worked tirelessly under challenging conditions to construct the bridge. “This bridge is a symbol of hope and a lifeline for around 1.5 lakh people in Ramban, Sangaldan, and Gool. It will significantly enhance connectivity and improve ease of living,” he said.
Highlighting the impact of recent natural calamities, the LG noted that the bridge will restore essential connectivity, enabling uninterrupted access to supplies, medical assistance, and emergency services. “The Bailey Bridge stands as a testament to the dedication, expertise, and service of the Indian Army, offering renewed hope to the region,” he added.
The Lieutenant Governor also congratulated the Indian Army and civil administration for their collaborative efforts. Senior officials including Maj Gen APS Bal, GOC Delta Force; Dr Mandeep K Bhandari, Principal Secretary to LG; Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Alyas Khan; Brig K Arun, Commander 11 Sector RR; and DIG Shridhar Patil attended the inaugural ceremony.
