Varanasi, Sept 13: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today addressed the Bhartiya Bhasha Samagam, organised by Hindusthan Samachar Group at Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith in Varanasi, emphasizing the importance of linguistic harmony for national unity and inclusive growth.
In his keynote address, Sinha said, “A linguistically harmonious society lays the foundation for socio-economic growth, strengthens social bonds, and promotes equality. Our linguistic diversity not only preserves cultural heritage but also enables collective nation-building.”
The LG praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Panch Pran vision, calling it a roadmap to shed colonial legacies, embrace cultural pride, and work towards Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat.
Highlighting the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, he urged linguistic scholars, researchers, and writers to ensure India’s ancient knowledge systems are made accessible in all mother tongues, especially in schools and libraries, to inspire the youth.
“Teaching children in their mother tongue alongside other languages enhances creativity, innovation, and competence. India’s linguistic diversity is a unique power that can accelerate progress across fields,” Sinha said.
The event also saw scholars felicitated for their contributions to the promotion of Indian languages. Prominent attendees included Dr. Neelkanth Tiwari, Atul Bhai Kothari, Arvind Mardikar, Prof. Ajit Kumar Chaturvedi, Prof. Anand Kumar Tyagi, and Dr. Pradeep Baba Madhok.
