Jammu, June 8: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Sunday inspected the centuries-old Gada Dari Temple located inside the Mubarak Mandi Heritage Complex in Jammu following reports of damage to the historic structure.
During his visit, the Lieutenant Governor assessed the condition of the shrine and issued directions to the concerned departments to initiate prompt conservation and repair measures. He stressed the importance of preserving Jammu’s cultural and religious heritage and called for restoration work to be carried out without delay while ensuring the original design and architectural integrity of the temple remain intact.
Officials briefed the Lieutenant Governor on the factors that led to the deterioration as well as the proposed plan for restoration. He further instructed executing agencies to accelerate preservation efforts and take preventive steps to avoid any additional damage to the site.
The temple, located within the heritage-rich Mubarak Mandi complex, is considered an important symbol of Jammu’s historical and spiritual legacy.
