Lok Adalat settles 43 cases at Reasi

REASI DECEMBER 12: District Legal Services Authority, Reasi under the Chairmanship of Kamlesh Pandit (Principal District and Sessions Judge)- the Chairman,   today organized National Lok-Adalat on the directions of U.T of J&K Legal Services Authority in district Reasi.

In the National Lok-Adalat, 303 cases of different nature were taken up and 43 cases were settled and a settlement amount of Rs. 8.77Lakh was awarded in MACT Cases/ Recovery Cases and Rs.  10,800/- was recovered as a compounding fine in other cases.

 Four benches for settling the referred cases were constituted. The first bench was presided over by Kamlesh Pandit, Pr. District & Sessions Judge, Reasi who was assisted by Rimpi Rani, JMIC/ Munsiff Reasi), the second bench of Lok Adalat was presided over by A.S. Langeh, Sub Judge/C.J.M, Reasi who was assisted by   Assma Choudhary, Addl. Spl. Mobile Magistrate Reasi, while the third bench was presided over by Romesh Lal, Chairman, Tehsil Legal Services Committee  (Sub-Judge) Katra who was assisted by Sunil Kumar, Munsiff/JMIC, Katra and 4th bench of Lok-Adalat was presided over by Mahavir Singh, Chairman, Tehsil Legal  Services Committee (Munsiff/JMIC) Mahore who was assisted by BAR President  Mahore. The bar members and litigants cooperated in settling the cases in this National Lok-Adalat.

All the SOPs regarding COVID-19 issued by the Government from time to time were followed during the National Lok Adalat.
