Magh Mela 2026: UP CM Yogi Adityanath Offers Prayers at Holy Ganga in Prayagraj

Chief Minister to assess arrangements for major bathing festivals, interact with sants, and attend religious programmes during Magh Mela visit

Prayagraj, Jan 10: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday offered prayers and performed rituals at the holy Ganga during his visit to the Magh Mela–2026 in Prayagraj.

The Chief Minister arrived in the city to review preparations for the upcoming Snan Parv and participated in Ganga Puja soon after reaching the Magh Mela area. He is also scheduled to take part in several religious programmes being organised at Sattu Baba’s pandal.

As part of his visit, CM Adityanath will hold a high-level review meeting with officials to assess arrangements for major bathing festivals, including Makar Sankranti, Mauni Amavasya and Basant Panchami, which are expected to witness a massive influx of devotees from across the country.

After taking a holy dip in the Ganga and offering prayers, the Chief Minister will attend the manifestation ceremony of Shri Jagadguru Ramanandacharya at Sattu Baba’s camp, where sadhus and seers from various akharas have already begun assembling. He will also interact with saints and religious leaders present at the Magh Mela site.

According to an official statement, CM Adityanath will attend a special programme organised to mark the 726th birth anniversary of Jagadguru Ramanandacharya. He is also scheduled to visit Rajendra Prasad National Law University during his Prayagraj tour.

The 44-day-long Magh Mela commenced on January 3 at the Sangam with the auspicious Paush Purnima bath. This year, the religious congregation will witness six major bathing occasions, culminating with the Mahashivratri snan on February 15.

Key bathing dates include Makar Sankranti on January 14, Mauni Amavasya on January 18, Basant Panchami on January 23, Maghi Purnima on February 1, and Mahashivratri on February 15.

With elaborate arrangements and heightened spiritual fervour, Magh Mela–2026 continues to reaffirm Prayagraj’s enduring legacy as a major centre of faith and cultural heritage.
