Mahagathbandhan Loses Bihar, Congress Flags ‘ECI vs People’ Narrative

Senior leader Pawan Khera slams Chief Election Commissioner as Mahagathbandhan trails in Bihar elections

New Delhi, Nov 14 : With the NDA racing towards a landslide victory in Bihar and the opposition Mahagathbandhan lagging behind, the Congress party has issued its first sharp reaction. Senior party leader Pawan Khera targeted the Election Commission of India (ECI) and Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar Gupta, suggesting the poll panel is influencing the election outcome.

Speaking to reporters in Delhi, Khera said:
“This is just the beginning, and we are waiting. The trends show (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar Gupta is making an impact on the people of Bihar.”

Khera criticized the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, alleging that despite it and instances of ‘vote chori’, voters in Bihar had shown courage by turning out in large numbers. He framed the current contest as a battle “between the Election Commission of India and the people of Bihar.”

Taking a dig at the CEC, he added:
“There was a book called ‘To Serve with Love.’ Gyanesh Kumar Gupta is writing this book for PM Modi.”

The opposition, particularly Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, had earlier raised concerns over the SIR process, alleging that it favored the ruling NDA. Allegations of voter fraud were highlighted through press conferences, but the ECI rejected all claims, providing counter-evidence to debunk the accusations.
