Mann: Opposition Parties Have Nothing to Offer the People of Punjab

Punjab CM highlights welfare initiatives, claims AAP will secure another term in 2027, and criticises Akali Dal, Congress and BJP.

ABOHAR (Punjab), Nov 1: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Sunday criticised the opposition parties, alleging that the Shiromani Akali Dal, Congress and BJP lacked a constructive agenda for the state’s development and public welfare.

Addressing a gathering in Abohar, Mann accused the Akali Dal of failing to provide answers over incidents of sacrilege and claimed the party had been reduced to the Badal family and a small circle of associates.

He described the Congress as a divided organisation, alleging that its leaders were constantly engaged in internal conflicts.

Mann further accused the opposition parties of working together to secure political power and protect their personal interests, rather than addressing the concerns of Punjab’s residents.

The chief minister expressed confidence that the people of Punjab would give the Aam Aadmi Party another opportunity to govern the state in the 2027 Assembly elections.

He said voters had experienced the difference between self-serving politics and administration focused on public welfare, adding that he hoped they would continue to support his government.

Highlighting the Mukh Mantri Mawan-Dheeyan Satkar Yojna, Mann said Rs 1,291 crore had been transferred to the bank accounts of more than 37.43 lakh beneficiaries.

He said over 80 lakh women had registered for the financial assistance scheme as of October 29, while the government was working towards its target of covering one crore women.

According to Mann, the initiative does not impose restrictive household-based conditions, and all eligible women can receive the assistance.

He claimed the scheme would provide financial support amounting to Rs 12,000 crore annually, describing it as a major step towards strengthening women’s financial independence.

Mann said the government remained committed to development, transparency and public welfare, expressing confidence that voters would reject what he termed misleading propaganda by opposition parties.
