Jammu, 29-07-2023 : The Shri Amarnathji Yatra Welfare Society (SAYWS) has been diligently serving the pilgrims undertaking the sacred Amarnath Yatra, ensuring their well-being and comfort throughout their journey. Recently, the langar facility, previously located at Saraswati Dham, has been relocated to the TRC counter at the Railway Station. To assess the facilities and interact with the pilgrims, a group of esteemed dignitaries visited the langar, including Sh. Varinder Manyal, the General Manager of DIC Jammu, Sh. Mohd. Iqbal Pala, the Deputy Drug Controller, Sh. Amit Gupta, the Drug Inspector, and Sh. Rajinder Parsadh Ji, the Senior Vice President of Jammu Chemist Association.
During their visit, the dignitaries engaged with the pilgrims, gaining valuable insights into the services provided to them. As a token of appreciation for the exceptional efforts of SAYWS in catering to the needs of the pilgrims, the office bearers of SAYWS extended their gratitude and honored all the visiting dignitaries.
The dignitaries were full of praise for the langar committee, recognizing their unwavering dedication and hard work in ensuring the pilgrims’ comfort and convenience. Sh. Kiran Wattal, the President of SAYWS, expressed his heartfelt thanks to the dignitaries for taking the time to visit and also provided them with an overview of the various activities undertaken by the society.
Sh. Anil Gupta, the Senior Vice President of SAYWS, highlighted the society’s unwavering commitment to cleanliness and hygiene at the langar. Pilgrims were provided with packaged drinking water bottles, and the langar exclusively served pure Dogri food. An impressive feat, the langar has been running continuously for 31 days, offering seamless services to the pilgrims. Sh. Anil Gupta also took the opportunity to express his gratitude to the administration and police personnel for their round-the-clock support and services to the pilgrims. The media, too, received appreciation for their timely dissemination of information to the pilgrims, aiding them in their sacred journey.
It is estimated that around 3,000 to 4,000 pilgrims are served at the SAYWS venue on a daily basis, highlighting the significant impact of their selfless services. Sh. Anil Gupta urged the pilgrims to abide by the guidelines issued by the administration and carry with them a message of peace and the warm hospitality of the people of Jammu upon their return to their home places. The dignitaries’ visit and interaction with the Yatries were hailed as a valuable gesture that further strengthens the bond of unity and compassion among the community.
The event witnessed the presence of several prominent individuals, including SAYWS Senior Vice-President Anil Gupta, Sh. Prem Sharma (General Secretary of SAYWS), Prem Ji, Kamal Ganjoo, Ashok Sharma Ji, among others, who all contributed to the successful operation of the langar and the overall welfare of the pilgrims.
