“Mark Ruffalo Hints at Political Move, Criticises US Parties, Backs Zohran Mamdani”

Avengers Star Mark Ruffalo Opens Up About Politics, Calls for Change for Working Americans

England, Jan 12 : Mark Ruffalo, the beloved Avengers hero, is leaving fans wondering if he might swap the big screen for the political arena. Speaking at the All the President’s Men benefit reading for the Stella Adler Foundation in Los Angeles on January 10, Ruffalo shared his thoughts on a potential future in office.

At 58, Ruffalo admitted that running for office isn’t an immediate plan but kept the possibility open:

“It isn’t on my game card right now, but who knows. I mean, you never say never.”

He added, “I spent a lot of time in that world, and acting. It’s for the people. So, I love the people, and politicians could be doing something good for the people.”

Excited About Zohran Mamdani’s Win
Ruffalo also expressed enthusiasm for Zohran Mamdani’s victory as New York City mayor over Andrew Cuomo and Curtis Sliwa. “It really excited me,” he said. “It shows what’s possible in this country.”

Calling Out Political Excuses
Known for speaking his mind, Ruffalo didn’t mince words when addressing the notion that meaningful change is too slow or expensive. “The people in America are suffering. If they weren’t, we wouldn’t be where we are right now,” he said.

He also criticised both major parties, saying,

“They become completely captured by corporations. It’s time for a new America that is for the working people, the plurality of this country.”

Activism Through the Years
This isn’t the first time Ruffalo has voiced strong political opinions. The actor and environmental activist has been outspoken on social issues for years. In June, he slammed former President Donald Trump on Instagram over ICE operations, comparing agents to “packs of coyotes” and highlighting racial injustice.

Ruffalo concluded,

“The billionaire up at the top is stealing you blind, and you are worried about the poorest of the poor ruining your life? You are pointing your guns in the wrong direction.”
