Jammu, May 4: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has issued the official duty roster of Administrative Secretaries for the Civil Secretariat in Jammu for May 2026, ensuring uninterrupted governance and smooth disposal of official work during the summer session.
The roster was notified through Government Order No. 859-JK(GAD) of 2026 dated May 3 by the General Administration Department (GAD). Under the arrangement, senior IAS officers and departmental heads will remain stationed at the Civil Secretariat in Jammu on a rotational schedule throughout the month.
Officers Deputed for Early May
According to the order, from May 4 to May 8, Ashwani Kumar, IAS, Financial Commissioner and Additional Chief Secretary of the Power Development Department, will oversee administrative functioning along with Mohammad Aijaz, IAS, Secretary of the Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Department.
The arrangement has been made to ensure timely handling of government matters and effective coordination among departments during the ongoing summer operations in Jammu.
Mid-May Secretariat Assignments
For the period between May 11 and May 15, Shaleen Kabra, IAS, Financial Commissioner and Additional Chief Secretary of the Jal Shakti Department, has been assigned duty at the Secretariat. He will be accompanied by Dr. Piyush Singla, IAS, Secretary of the Information Technology Department.
Officials said the rotational presence of senior officers helps maintain administrative efficiency and ensures that key departments remain accessible for urgent governance-related decisions.
Tourism and Civil Aviation Officials to Take Charge
During May 18 to May 22, Dr. Ashish Chandra Verma, IAS, Financial Commissioner and Additional Chief Secretary of the Tourism Department, will remain available at the Civil Secretariat. Naveen S. L., IAS, Secretary of the Civil Aviation Department, has also been included in the roster for the same period.
The government regularly prepares such schedules to facilitate coordination between departments and streamline official functioning during the Secretariat’s seasonal operations in Jammu.
Finance and Labour Departments to Lead Final Phase
In the final week of the month, from May 25 to May 29, Shailendra Kumar, IAS, Financial Commissioner and Additional Chief Secretary of the Finance Department, will discharge duties at the Secretariat alongside Kumar Rajeev Ranjan, IAS, Administrative Secretary of the Labour and Employment Department.
The General Administration Department stated that the roster has been framed to maintain continuity in governance and ensure that senior officers remain available for public administration, departmental coordination, and policy-related work during the summer session in Jammu.
