India, Sep 25 : Microsoft has launched its India South Central cloud region in Telangana, expanding the technology company’s cloud infrastructure footprint in India amid growing demand for artificial intelligence and digital services.
The new region, located in Hyderabad, is Microsoft’s fourth cloud region in India. Its launch strengthens Telangana’s position as a major destination for data-centre, cloud computing and AI infrastructure investments.
Microsoft’s expanded infrastructure is expected to provide customers with access to cloud services closer to their operations in southern India. Localised cloud infrastructure can also support requirements involving data processing, application performance and digital transformation.
The development comes as Indian businesses and public-sector organisations increase their adoption of cloud computing and AI-based technologies. Companies are using cloud platforms for applications ranging from enterprise software and data analytics to machine learning and digital services.
