Mining Deptt hand in glove with mafia; alleges Tony

Botched up bidding process exposed Mining Deptt badly

SUCHETGARH: Taranjit Singh Tony, Chairman of AAP J&K for Administrative Engagement and Minority Affairs and DDC Suchetgarh on Thursday alleged that J&K Government’s Mining Department is hand in glove with mining mafia and is involved in open loot of UT’s resources.

The senior AAP functionary, while inaugurating the road work in Suchetgarh, said that recent botched up auction of mining blocks is the testimony to the fact that Mining Department is fully involved in the gross misconduct of affairs and has shown lopsided attitude giving benefit to mafia and ignoring the plights of genuine bidders.  He alleged as the Mining Department is playing in the hands of mafia, the auction process was purposefully foiled to usurp the minimum amount.

Talking about mineral Mafia ruling the roost by open loot of minerals, he said that the BJP government has given a long rope to this mafia to act on its whims and fancies as no authority has the will or power to keep  a check on it.  “The contractors and the mining mafias are also ruling the roost with no succor for the common man as costs of building material has crossed all the limits,” he added.

Tony appealed to the Union Home Minister for intervening in the matter and ensure transparency and accountability to stop the Gorakhdhandha and give respite to the genuine bidders hailing from J&K as big fish from outside the UT are hell-bent to snatch the genuine share of the locals belonging to J&K UT.   He said that the Union Home Minister should stop this open loot of resources or else J&K will be at  a great loss.
