Ministry of Home Affairs Names ADGP Jamwal as Head of Police in Ladakh

07-06-2023 : The Ministry of Home Affairs announced on Wednesday the appointment of Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Shiv Darshan Singh Jamwal as the new police chief of the Union Territory of Ladakh. This decision comes as part of a transfer order that moves Jamwal from Jammu and Kashmir to Ladakh UT.

The official order, as reported by the news agency KNO, states that Dr. Shiv Darshan Singh Jamwal, an IPS officer from the AGMUT cadre of 1995, has been approved by the competent authority to assume the position of Head of Police in the UT of Ladakh. The order is effective from the date of his assumption of charge and will remain in place until further notice.
