JAMMU, MARCH 08: To mark International Women’s Day, an Entrepreneurship Mela under the flagship ‘Mission YUVA’ initiative was organised today at the Common Facility Centre Panjgrian in Block Nagrota.
Multiple stalls were set up by SHGs and allied line departments to showcase locally manufactured products and small business ventures. The departments also disseminated awareness regarding different livelihood generation and self-employment schemes.
Member Legislative Assembly Nagrota, Devyani Rana, attended the event as the Chief Guest.
The MLA inspected the stalls and interacted with the SHG members and local entrepreneurs. She appreciated their efforts in establishing local enterprises .
Additionally, officials from the District Employment & Counselling Centre Jammu briefed the participants about the core objectives of Mission YUVA. They sensitised the attendees regarding the institutional support and opportunities available for starting new business ventures.
The event concluded with an emphasis on maximising the participation of youth and women in entrepreneurial activities to achieve the goal of self-reliance and grassroots economic development.
