JAMMU,14-04-2024: Senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister, Kavinder Gupta said that the BJP Government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi is committed to the welfare of tribal communities as every effort is being made to uplift this underprivileged section across the country.
The senior BJP functionary was speaking during the joining programme held here today. During the programme, scores of Gujjar community members joined the party fold under the leadership of Lal Hussain and Yonus. On the occasion, Shashi Vaid, Arun Sharma, Adv Jatinder, Ajay Sharma, Monika, and Shakti Devi were also present.
Kavinder said that for the first time in the history of independent India, any government has done so much for the tribal community which traditionally craved for the mere basic amenities for all these years under the successive regimes. He cited the unprecedented instance of a tribal woman becoming the President of the country as an example of the Government’s commitment to tribal welfare while protecting their pride.
Citing the example of tribals living in J&K, he said that the Modi government has empowered the community by providing many avenues to this marginalized section. He said that the Government is relentlessly making all-out efforts to protect the interests of tribal people, including their land, education and upliftment of their socio-economic status.
He mentioned J&K government has scripted history by handing over individual and community rights certificates to the beneficiaries of Gujjar, Bakarwal, and Gaddi Sippi communities under the Forest Rights Act (FRA), 2006. He also mentioned that it was the first time in history that a good number of seats have been reserved for the Scheduled Tribe community in the UT of J&K, thus making it amply clear that BJP Government has fulfilled the aspirations and expectations of the people as far as the policy of Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas is concerned.
Kavinder said the BJP is “true secular party” that takes care of the aspirations of every community without indulging in “appeasement politics”. He further said that under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi the people of every section of the country feels connected to the nation and BJP party. The BJP is undoubtedly the first and only choice of the people of the country, he added.
Later, the newly joined members extended overwhelming support to the BJP for its pro-people policies and hope that such endeavour will continue in near future also.
Meanwhile, Kavinder Gupta paid tributes to Bharat Ratna Dr. BR Ambedkar during a programme held here today on the occasion of his birth anniversary.
Kavinder Gupta, in his address, said that the work done by the architect of the Constitution of India Bharat Ratna Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar in drafting the Constitution of India is phenomenal and the much-needed respite which he gave to the downtrodden and oppressed society at that time is truly matchless. Baba Saheb has left an indelible mark by setting a benchmark by creating the law book for the country which is flawless and formed the basis of India becoming a Republic, he added.
