Jammu, May 02: Lauding the efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Swachh Bharat Mission, BJP District President Jammu Vinay Kumar Gupta on Monday said BJP has worked towards fulfilling Mahatma Gandhi’s ambition of a Clean India.
Today BJP District President Jammu Vinay Kumar Gupta along with JMC Chairman Swach Bharat Abhiyaan Hardeep Singh Mankotia and local Councillor Rahul Kumar in the presence of Rohiin Chandan Social Media Secretary BJP District Jammu, Sandeep Gupta District executive member, Rachit Khosla Gandhi Nagar Mandal Secretary, Riky Gupta, Sr.Satbir Singh ward president and Vijay Verma distributed free dustbins in ward no.20 Green belt locale among the shop keepers and others under “Swachh Bharat Mission” for collecting dry/wet garbage on daily basis. Vinay along with Rahul conducted an extensive tour of adjoining areas and met with the denizens as well as shopkeepers.
In the meantime residents, as well as shopkeepers, were briefed on the grievances being faced by them related to sanitation, street lights etc. Vinay patiently heeded their genuine desires and assured to solve the problems at the earliest. He said JMC is dedicated to delivering better civic as well as development amenities to the population of Jammu in all the wards of the city and appealed to the general public to come forward & cooperate with JMC in all the initiatives taken for the betterment of the City so that Jammu can be made a Smart City Gupta added’.
Vinay highlighted that the “Swachh Bharat Mission will be written in golden letters in the history of the nation”.He acknowledged that PM Modi launched the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan on the 145th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi on October 2, 2014, to accelerate the efforts of achieving universal sanitation across the nation and distributing dustbins for free is part of that program.
Speaking on the occasion, Rahul Kumar said that taking cleanliness as our priority, Jammu Municipal Corporation is providing free of cost dustbins to the shopkeepers of Ward no. 20 and appealed to them to throw the garbage in the dustbins only and not outside in drains or lanes and only to handover the garbage to the Sanitation workers when they come to collect that garbage. He also appreciated all the stakeholders and JMC staff for awaring the public.
Shopkeepers association and citizens of the ward no.20 extended compliment to the Vinay, Rahul and staff members of Jammu Municipal corporation for visiting their areas and listening to their matters and also guaranteed that they will provide full cooperation to the JMC staff in maintaining their market and adjoining areas neat, clean and green.
JMC staff members namely Kavita Angral, Joginder Singh Sanitary Inspector, Joginder Parihar supervisor, Gulshan, Bagicha and others were present on the occasion.
