JAMMU: Advocate Purnima Sharma, Spokesperson BJP J&K and former Deputy Mayor Jammu said that the BJP Government led by PM Narendra Modi has crafted several women oriented schemes to bring in gender equality besides empowering the women folk in the right perspective.
She was addressing a meeting of women folk here today.
The senior BJP leader said that the Centre led by PM Modi has created an atmosphere conducive for empowering women with many schemes acting as bedrock for supporting the fair sex community across the country. She however made a fervent appeal to the women folk to focus on the education of girl child as it is a prerequisite for the better future of the girls as making career bright is not possible without education and open minds. She said that today is the time of cut throat competition and therefore parents should give priority to make their children highly educated as this can transform them from ordinary masses to meaningful citizens capable of nation building.
The former Deputy Mayor also highlighted various schemes crafted by the Modi government exclusively for women to empower them literally and allow them to play a pivotal role in the society. The women oriented schemes which the BJP Spokesperson highlighted on the occasion include Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Scheme, UJJAWALA Scheme, SWADHAR Greh Scheme, Sukanya Samriddhi Account Scheme, Women Helpline Scheme and many more.
Purnima said that it is for the first time in the history of the country that so many women oriented schemes have been launched by a government in its two terms as earlier the dispensations preferred to give lip service only. She asked women folk to come forward and strengthen the hands of Prime Minister Narendra Modi by supporting the Bharatiya Janata Party in the upcoming polls for the equitable development of Jammu and Kashmir.
