Isreal, Feb 26 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been presented with the Speaker of the Knesset Medal, one of Israel’s highest parliamentary distinctions, in recognition of his role in strengthening strategic ties between India and Israel.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh congratulated the Prime Minister, stating that the recognition highlights the deep trust, mutual respect and growing strategic alignment that characterise bilateral relations today. He described the award as a proud moment for the nation.
Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan also welcomed the honour, calling it a moment of pride for every Indian. He noted that the recognition symbolises the expanding partnership between two ancient civilisations and reflects the steady progress in cooperation across multiple sectors in recent years.
The Israeli Parliament conferred the medal acknowledging Modi’s personal leadership in advancing diplomatic, strategic and economic engagement between the two countries. The award is reserved for individuals who have significantly contributed to reinforcing bilateral ties and democratic values.
Responding to the recognition, the Prime Minister expressed gratitude and humility, saying the honour represents the enduring friendship between India and Israel rather than an individual achievement.
