Ms. Saroj Awarded Ph.D. in Economics from SMVDU for Pioneering Study on Farmer Welfare

Academic Excellence: SMVDU Researcher Earns Ph.D. for Influential Study on Market Risks in Farming

Jammu, 20-08-2024: Ms. Saroj, a dedicated researcher from the School of Economics at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), has successfully been awarded her Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Economics.

Her research, conducted under the expert guidance of Dr. Pabitra Kumar Jena and Dr. Kirtti Ranjan Paltasingh, faculty members at SMVDU, focused on the empirical analysis of “Contract Farming, Market Risk, and Farmer’s Welfare: A Case of Wheat Growers in Haryana.” Her scholarly work has been recognized through publications in prestigious high-impact factor international journals ranked by ABDC, SCI, and SCOPUS. In addition, Ms. Saroj has actively presented her research findings at various national and international conferences, showcasing her academic rigor. Currently, she is contributing to academia as an Assistant Professor (Economics) at Akal University, Bathinda, Punjab. Expressing her sincere gratitude, Ms. Saroj acknowledged the essential resources and unwavering support provided by the School of Economics at SMVDU throughout her research journey.
