Mughal Road Reopens for Light Motor Vehicles Between Bufliaz and Peer Ki Gali From Feb 27

Poonch authorities clear snow, enforce time restrictions for safe travel

POONCH, Feb 26: The District Magistrate of Poonch has announced that the Mughal Road (NH-701A) stretch between Bufliaz and Peer Ki Gali will reopen for Light Motor Vehicles (LMVs) starting February 27, 2026.

According to the official order, vehicular movement will be permitted from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm only, contingent on favorable weather and safe road conditions. The decision follows the clearance of accumulated snow along the route and recommendations from the Officer Commanding, 79 RCC (GREF).

Authorities will deploy personnel and machinery at avalanche-prone and vulnerable sections to ensure smooth and secure travel. Police officials have been instructed to manage traffic at key points and enforce the designated timings.

Commuters are advised to adhere to traffic advisories and plan their journeys carefully while traveling on the reopened Mughal Road.
