Mughal Road Shut After Heavy Rain and Snowfall at Pir Gali

Authorities suspend traffic movement, advise commuters to avoid unnecessary travel

SHOPIAN, Mar 31: Traffic movement along the Mughal Road was suspended on Tuesday following intense overnight rainfall and fresh snowfall in the Pir Gali stretch, officials confirmed.

Senior Superintendent of Police (Traffic Rural) Farooq Qaiser stated that the strategic route will remain closed until weather conditions improve and the road is declared safe for vehicular movement. He added that restoration work and safety assessments are currently underway.

Officials said that clearance operations will continue, and the decision to reopen the road will be taken only after thorough verification of travel conditions.

Meanwhile, commuters have been urged to refrain from non-essential travel on the route and remain cautious, particularly in vulnerable areas affected by inclement weather.
