MVD Doda conducts special enforcement drive

DODA, MARCH 07: The Motor Vehicles Department Doda today carried out a special enforcement drive across District Doda. The drive aimed to ensure strict compliance with the Motor Vehicles Act, curb traffic violations, and enhance road safety across the district.

The enforcement team, led by Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO) Doda, Kapil Deol established nakas at key locations and checked a total of 405 vehicles during the operation. As a result of the inspections, 89 challans were issued against violators and fines amounting to ₹4,03,700 were imposed for various traffic and transport-related offences.

During the drive, 14 vehicles were seized for serious violations. In addition, 17 Driving Licences (DLs), 12 Registration Certificates (RCs), and one route permit were recommended for suspension for non-compliance with transport rules and safety regulations. The action was taken against offences such as overloading, lack of valid documents, and violation of permit conditions.

The Motor Vehicles Department reiterated its commitment to strengthening road safety and maintaining discipline on roads. Officials emphasized that such enforcement drives will continue in the district to ensure adherence to traffic rules, promote responsible driving behaviour, and reduce road accidents. Commuters and vehicle owners were also urged to keep valid documents, follow traffic regulations, and cooperate with enforcement authorities for safer roads.
