NC committed to addressing concerns of Sikh community: JS Azad 

Omar Abdullah government is actively working to rectify the shortcomings of previous years

Srinagar, 28 Nov: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference Minority Wing Convenor, Sardar JS Azad Sunday said that the government led by Omar Abdullah is leading all sectors of society towards progress.

Chairing a reach out meeting in Baramulla, he said that the party is fully committed to addressing all concerns of the Sikh Community. He emphasized that the Omar Abdullah-led government is well aware of the issues faced by the Sikh Community and is prepared to take necessary actions to resolve them. 

“Sikh youth are facing unemployment just like any other youth in the Valley. We have been vocal about the lack of Punjabi language support, high unemployment rates among Sikh youth, and the inadequate utility services in Sikh-inhabited areas. However, the Omar Abdullah government is actively working to rectify the shortcomings of previous years.”

MLA Baramulla Javed Hassan Beg, District President Baramulla Adv. Shahid Ali Shah, Minority wing functionary Amit Koul and others were also present on the occasion. 

On the occasion, MLA Javed Beg and Minority Wing Convenor JS Azad attentively listened to the concerns raised by representatives of the Sikh community. They assured the community members that they would promptly address these issues by bringing them to the attention of the relevant ministries.
