Jammu:16-03-25: Ankush Abrol, Provincial Joint Secretary JKNC today reiterated his demand for restoration of Statehood to Jammu & Kashmir and urged the Hon’ble Prime Minister to fulfil his promise, which he made with the people of Jammu & Kashmir earnestly waiting for his constructive action sans further delay.
Addressing youths during a meeting, Abrol said that Statehood is not just a political necessity but a constitutional and moral obligation held out to people of J&K that must be fulfilled at the earliest. The time for delays and empty promises is over as the people demand positive action,” he asserted.
The meeting was organised by Vikshay Vashist and graced by Ankush Abrol, Joint Secretary JKNC, as the Chief Guest, while Dr Vikas Sharma, Coordinator Jammu District and Secretary of the Central Zone of JKNC was the Guest of Honour.
While interacting with youth both maintained that the Central Government must understand that without restoration of Statehood, the process of ensuring Development, Peace and Prosperity in Jammu and Kashmir would remain as day dreaming and injustice with the people here, they apprehended.
Evincing confidence over the present Government policies Ankush said that the government will create thousands of job opportunities in various sectors, ensuring merit-based and transparent recruitment. He also lauded the proposal of launching special training initiatives to equip youth with modern skills, enhancing their capability for employment both in government and private sectors besides extension of universal health insurance coverage for BPL families meant for economically weaker sections to receive free medical treatment.
He described as the game changer by Government of Omar Abdullah’s considerable fund allocation for the modernization of government schools, colleges, and technical institutes which would serve as booster to the quality education besides expansion of road networks with special focus on building new highways and rural roads tor improving connectivity across Jammu and Kashmir. He also hailed the initiatives for urban development to improve drainage, water supply and sanitation in urban areas for making cities more attractive and lively.
He urged the people to strengthen the hands of National Conference enabling it to continue serving the people and fulfilling their hopes and aspirations. He emphasized that the National Conference led government under Omar Abdullah is dedicated to holistic development and pro-people governance.
Dr Vikas Sharma in his address slammed the BJP for adopting policies which are anti-poor, anti-youth, and anti-downtrodden class pushing the region into economic degradation, administrative chaos and confusion as well as and developmental apathy.
He said that the people of Jammu had high hopes from the BJP, but the party failed on all fronts and insulting its mandate by breaching trust of the common masses in Jammu.
Referring to the growing unemployment crisis, he said that the youth of J&K are in deep due to paucity of job opportunities maligned with deep footedly scandal-ridden recruitment process under the Double Engine Sarkar. He pointed out that several recruitment scams have shattered the dreams majority of educated youths aspiring government jobs. “The recruitment process in various departments has been marred by irregularities, corruption, favouritism and nepotism leaving deserving candidates hopeless and disillusioned,” he rued.
He asserted that instead of creating employment opportunities and promoting industrial growth, the Double Engine Sarkar worsened the situation by failing to generate jobs and sadly mishandling the recruitment process. This has diverted the youth towards drugs, he said citing the example of five to six young boys succumbing to clutches of drugs due to employment policies replete with flaws. He demanded stern action against the drug mafia by tackling the source of narcotic dens and sought compassionate intervention in addressing the issues concerning the youth.
He urged the people to see through the BJP’s false promises and support the National Conference in its mission to bring stability, progress, and justice to Jammu & Kashmir.
