NC’s 12 ‘Guarantees’ turned out to be 12 ‘Deceptions’, people feeling betrayed: Dr. Pardeep

Jammu, 14 October 2025: Promises were forgotten, and the people were betrayed in the one year of the National Conference (NC) government, said Dr. Pardeep Mahotra, Media Incharge, J&K BJP.

Dr. Pardeep Mahotra said that in this one year, the people felt increasingly betrayed at the end of every month, who hoped of at least one fulfilled promise per month. He said that this year exposed the gulf between promise and performance. The projection of “new dawn of dignity, identity, and development” has turned into a dark chapter of stagnation, excuses, and betrayal,

He said that the NC came to power on an avalanche of tall promises and emotional appeals but, within a year, has failed to deliver even a single concrete outcome from its 2024 election manifesto. The much-trumpeted “12 Guarantees” have turned into “12 Deceptions”, from providing one lakh jobs, 200 units of free electricity, and free drinking water, to 5000 rupees monthly assistance for poor women, 3000 rupees pension for elderly citizens, and 12 free LPG cylinders for EWS households. Not one of these commitments has seen action, exposing the government’s lack of intent and capability.

Dr. Pardeep asserted that this government has made a mockery of governance ignoring public needs, displaying non-seriousness, and pushing J&K backward in terms of development vision. Kashmiri Pandits are still awaiting warm welcome from the government for rehabilitation, youth still unemployed, and citizens still reeling under power and water crises. Instead of serving the people, the NC leadership seems content with rhetoric of blame-game to acquire more power, he said.

In contrast, Dr. Pardeep said, the Modi government proved its determination for the transformation, developmental and governance in J&K, ushering in unprecedented progress through infrastructure expansion, industrial investments, healthcare upgradation, educational reforms, transparent recruitment, and equitable regional development. The Modi Government replaced decades of exploitation with empowerment, ensuring peace, progress, and prosperity for every region and community.

Dr. Pardeep Mahotra challenged the NC leadership to prove that they genuinely care for the welfare and development of the people rather than merely clinging to the trappings of power. The people of Jammu & Kashmir have seen through the NC’s politics of promises and are no longer ready to be deceived again, he asserted.
